Each Friday we try to start your weekend off with a sampling of fine wines and beers that will allow you to relax into your "days off" with a positive note. Always a gathering of friends and neighbors and good conversation.

Closerie Saint Antoine Viognier, Champ de Carra $10.99
Light yellow color with green reflection, with aromas of citrus and honeysuckle, with peach and mango developing in the glass. On the palate, it is quite lovely with ample fruit expression, intense and balanced at the same time. Ripe peach and pear flavors expand before a textured finish with a hint of lemon.  
 
2015 Domaine Michel Thomas, Sancerre Rose' $22.99, 
Light, bright pink. Redcurrant, strawberry and chalk on the nose, with a touch of singed orange gaining strength with air. Dusty red fruit and citrus flavors are braced by tangy minerality, which adds lift and cut. Uncompromising in the best way, finishing with excellent clarity and echoes of lemon and orange zest.
 
2015 Domaine de la Mordorée, CDR Rouge $16.99
"Another terrific red is the 2015 Côtes du Rhône La Dame Rousse, which has serious polish and elegance for a Côtes du Rhône. Chateau Bellevue Cotes de Castillon $18.99
The wine is made with 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc.
Average age of the vines is 50 years old (everything is between 40 and 60 years old).

Cé Ma Cuvée is a tribute from Michel Lydoire to his 2 daughters:
Cé is for Céline. She is like the Merlot grape varietal. Pleasant and calm.
Ma is for Marina. She is like the Cabernet Sauvignon grape varietal. Tough and with a lot of character.

The color is deep and inky. 
The nose is spicy, fruity and oaky with some nice vanilla and coconut aromas. 
The mouthfeel is complex, with ripe red and black fruit flavors. Some spiciness and integrated oak flavors.

Les Pieds dans les Galets Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes 2012 $44.99
60% Grenache Noir, 30% Mourvedre and 10% Syrah. 80 year old vines.  
 40% (the Mourvedre and Syrah) was aged in French Foudre barrels for 8 months.
 Intense and rich, with spice and fresh red fruit.  Medium bodied with beautiful balance and freshness, plus excellent tannic structure.
