The  Idea!!
SIMPLE. COMPLEX. FUN.

In the world of wine there are compelling Locations that exist where soil, climate and vines interact to produce grapes that uniquely express their Location through wine. Our love of wine recognizes the nuances of time and place that combine and interact to represent location. These Locations exist individually within appellations of the new and old world, but are seldom combined across appellation, in the art of blending due to laws and restrictions that make it near impossible to express true winemaking freedom.

In Champagne, across appellation blending is a time honored and respected tradition – a tried and true method for producing a premium and consistent wine that represents the best aspects of the Champagne region. Why can’t this concept be taken wider – across country? Why do the rules not allow this? Why are these rules accepted?

But what if it could be done. What if one could blend across all of the major appellations, to produce a wine that represented a country of origin? What if one could do this across all of the major wine producing regions of the world. What if there were no rules? What if one had complete freedom to express whatever one believed. Could it be done?

The question is – do you break the rules, and thousands of years of history and tradition, in pursuit of expressing freedom?

WE BELIEVE SO.
WELCOME TO LOCATIONS.

The Wines!!

California White $19.99
Immediately, a nose of lemon zest, citrus, and a touch of honey lead to a bright and crisp entry complemented by an encompassing nectar mouth feel. A ripe stone fruit mid palate of apricots and peaches combine with an evolving crème custard coating. It finishes with a subtle minerality and a lychee texture, making this an ideal summertime wine.
Oregon Red $26.99
Vivid red with a deep purple core, the nose is generous with ripe cherry, black raspberry, acacia flowers, and hint of forest floor. Immediately, the palate is treated to a textural mélange of sweet cherry, pomegranate, rose petal, and sappy strawberry. A lively mid-palate reveals a mineral twist and exotic spice notes juxtaposed with fine tannins and superb clarity on the finish.

Italian Red $19.99
Locations I-2 Italian Red Wine is composed of Nero D’Avola and Negroamaro from Puglia, Barbera from Piedmont, and a small percentage of Sangiovese from Tuscany. It receives vinification in large oak and spends ten months in barrel prior to bottling. It displays more acidity than the French cuvee, along with notes of wild herbs, licorice, tomato skins, black olives, red and black currants, cherries, barbecue spice and burning embers. This serious, medium to full-bodied, tasty, distinctive wine can be consumed over the next several years.

Spanish Red $19.99
Locations E-2 Spanish Red Wine is a blend of Grenache from Priorat, Rioja and Toro, Tempranillo from Rioja, and Carignan from Ribera del Duero and Carinyena. It has the same fermentation and upbringing as the French and Italian wines. Majestic, soaring black fruit aromas intermixed with forest floor, white flowers and kirsch emerge from this full-bodied, opulent, voluptuously textured red along with stunning richness and depth.

Argentina Red $19.99
Dave Phinney's Locations project is off to a rousing start with this delicious blend of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon. It's a lively glass that's red fruit focused, with red currant, plum, black cherry and fall spice, with supple tannins, good grip and fine integration of flavors through the long finish. A great value that's worth locating. A Platinum Award winner at the 2016 Sommelier Challenge International Wine Competition.
Portugal Red $19.99
The glass opens with a triple layered aroma of savory peppercorn and cocoa, jasmine flowers, and black fruit. immediate dark chocolate structure provides the canvas on which black cherries, roasted lamb, and exotic spices intermingle. The wine finishes with tapering dark chocolate structure and culminates with hints of vanilla.

California Red $29.99
The CA-4, cuvée, all from 2014. It is a blend from diverse California areas, ranging from Napa, Sonoma and Mendocino to the Sierra Foothills, of Tempranillo, Barbera, Petite Sirah and Grenache. This is an outstanding wine, the kind of bistro/brasserie red that consumers will love. Opaque deep ruby/purple, it is loaded with intense wild berry fruit and a Zinfandel-like briariness, offering pepper, herbs, a touch of smoke and loads of black fruits and background oak. This is a big boy at 15.5% alcohol, but it’s not the least hot – just savory, luscious and opulent. Drink it over the next 3-4 years.

French Red $19.99
Locations F French Red Wine is a blend of Grenache from the Roussillon, Syrah from the Rhone Valley and assorted Bordeaux varieties. It was fermented in large oak vats and aged in barrel for ten months prior to bottling. A dense ruby/purple color is followed by a big, sweet kiss of licorice, black currants and camphor. Deep, full-bodied and ripe (but not over-ripe), it possesses good freshness, vibrancy and delineation as well as a juicy, in-your-face style. These wines are all meant to be drunk upon release, but enough stuffing is present that they should evolve for 4-5 years.
