Each Friday we try to start your weekend off with a sampling of fine wines and beers that will allow you to relax into your "days off" with a positive note. Always a gathering of friends and neighbors and good conversation.

Wolfberger Cremant d'Alsace Rose' $18.99
Alsace, France - This "traditional method" sparkling Pinot Noir possesses vividly fresh notes of red currant dominate the nose.
These also play on the palate where they are accentuated by finely fizzing mousse and ample freshness.
The body is light, dry and beautifully tangy—ideal as a mouthwatering apéritif. 

Wolfberger Pinot Gris 2017, Alsace $17.99
Alsace, France - Slight notes of yellow pear appear gently on the nose and become fully-fledged on the soft easy fruit-driven palate.
A touch of sweetness helps these fruity flavors along.
An edge of bitter zestiness and freshness contains the fruit. This finishes off dry but fresh. 

Chateau de Segries, Cotes du Rhone 2016 $17.99
A blend of 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre and 5% each Carignan and Cinsault aged solely in concrete, this medium-bodied wine is simply a joy to drink. Black cherries, dried spices and Provençal herbs finish with a silky touch. 
Enjoy with a large variety of food, from pizza to pasta, hamburgers or even on its own slightly chilled. 

Font de Jeu, Cotes de Castillon 2015 $19.99
Husband and wife duo Helene and Frederic Lapeyronie are the fourth generation of winemakers in the family. Frederic is the vineyard manager, Helene is the winemaker. She also teaches viticulture and enology in Saint Emilion.  This Bordeaux blend has aromas of blackberry, blackcurrants, licorice and vanillin. Medium-bodied with a solid texture of dark fruit, roasted coffee, and spice flavors.

Alain Jaume Chateau Mazane Vacqueyras $24.99

Chateau Mazane Vacqueyras Rouge is medium-bodied, pure and elegant. It offers plenty of plum, blueberry, spring flowers and peppery notes. On the palate, the richness of the tannins harmonizes with the smoothness of the wine. The finish is long, with spice aromas and licorice.

GREEN MAN PERSONIFIES A RENAISSANCE OF GREAT BEER
The Legendary Green Man has existed for centuries, but it’s no myth that he’s been brewing great beer in Asheville since 1997. We are consistently recognized for our internationally loved traditional English styles and creative versions of the newest craft trends. As Downtown Asheville’s oldest brewery and tasting room, we developed the first sour program in the area and produce some of the beer scene’s most iconic ales for many years. Green Man brewers strive to bring innovative and exciting new flavors to all beer-loving folks.

From Asheville’s first to one of Downtown Asheville’s largest tasting rooms, our storied growth has brought us to a whole lot of awesome. The latest addition to our growing footprint in Asheville’s South Slope Neighborhood is our state of the art packaging hall that can be seen from our third story. This area also features an indoor/outdoor taproom loft that overlooks the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. When you visit, make sure to visit the original tasting room Dirty Jack’s, as well as enjoy the new Green Mansion all located on the same block of Buxton Avenue.

Perfect for every occasion, this easy drinking IPA suits any activity you fancy. This cool ale has a rockin’ citrus aroma and a laid-back finish.   So pull your hair back, drop the top and put those Wayfarers on, baby. 

Trickster IPA 4 pack $12.99

This unfiltered tropical fruit forward IPA gives off notes of pineapple, peach, and watermelon. Smooth with medium bitterness and just enough malt backbone to support the hops. Brewed with pale malt and dry hopped with 2lbs. per barrel of El Dorado, Mosaic, and Simcoe.
