The Wines!

1+1=3 Cava Brut $16.99

Produced from estate-grown, hand-harvested grapes, this Cava was bottled using yeast from the Oenologist Institute of Champagne. Second fermentation commenced in bottle, which took three months at 57 degrees F. The wine is aged in the bottle for at least 16 months before disgorging and is disgorged several times per year, so length of time on yeast varies. All bottles are marked with a disgorgement date on the back label. Dosage added (8.5 gm/liter). Total residual sugar: 9.9 gm/liter.

Nessa Albarhino $16.99

This wine is produced from young estate grown vines and purchased grapes from older vineyards in the Salnes sub-region of Rias Baixas. After cluster sorting the grapes are whole cluster pressed in a pneumatic press, followed by settling of the must with dry ice. The wine was fermented at 64°F in stainless steel tank. No malolactic fermentation. Aged for 1 month on fine lees for increased texture and mouth feel.

Epifanio Ribera del Duero $14.99

Made from 100% Tinta Fina. Ageing in barrels, of which 80% are French oak and 20% are American oak, is 10 months. Lively and colourful wine that is open and clear to the nose; with sterling mature blackberries, black liquorice, and mineral reminiscences; with creamy and smoky tones from the oak wood; and a spicy finish. Neatly structured in the mouth, with friendly and well-melted tannin, beefy and concentrated fruit, extremely tasteful, balanced and with a refreshing sensation due to an appropriate acidity.

Cune' Rioja Crianza $15.99

“A ripe bouquet of fresh strawberry and red cherries that is competently enmeshed with the oak. The palate is fresh and lively with taut tannins. There are notes of dark cherry, licorice and a touch of mocha with a finely-tuned, delineated finish. There is a pleasing brightness to this Crianza that is approachable now and should age with style.”

Serras del Priorat $36.99

A younger version of Font de la Figuera with plenty of forward, bright red fruit flavors, with balance and a classic mineral Priorat finish. This wine is ready to drink, but will continue to improve for at least 2 to 3 years. Overall ageing potential 8 to 10 years. Ideal with classic Mediterranean cuisine, white meats, vegetables and rice dishes.
