What could be better?

Paul Hobbs as quoted from Forbes magazine:

The Steve Jobs of Wine is an apt metaphor to describe the ardent exactitude of winemaker and consultant Paul Hobbs.  He’s a quality fanatic. Twice named Wine Personality of the Year by Robert Parker, Hobbs was first hired by Robert Mondavi for his expertise in oak aging, he then moved on to Opus One and later Simi Winery.  Hobbs is also credited with recognizing, despite the skeptics, the winemaking potential in Argentina, (while we were all distracted and busy swooning over California). His efforts helped bring that region into global focus. Now he’s busy running Paul Hobbs Winery and Vina Cobos in Argentina. He’s also consulting, sharing his knack for finding good dirt with winemakers across the globe.

The Wines!

Lawson's Dry Hill Pinot Gris $16.99

Pear, stonefruit and citrus characters feature strongly and the combination of low yields, partial barrel fermentation and lees stirring has produced a wine with weight, complexity and length.

Ideal wine to drink whilst young, however this wine will become more complex and interesting with cellaring. Enjoy with White fish, shell fish or crab meat, Cheeses or salami.

Paul Hobbs "Crossbarn" Chardonnay $31.99

A delicate pale gold in color, this cool climate chardonnay boasts fresh aromas of pomelo, baked pear galette and chamomile flower. The wine is juicy and pure on the palate with flavors of apricots, lime chiffon pie and white tea. The texture is round and vibrant with a long, polished finish.

Atmosphere Provence Rose' $14.99

A limpid salmon pink robe. Flattering bouquet of citrus fruits and red fruit. Fresh and smooth on the palate, evoking the juiciness of apricots and grapefruit.

Alto Lamay Pinot Noir $15.99

Bright ruby red tones in the glass. The nose opens with floral notes of rose petals and violets, followed by a core of raspberry, red currant and strawberry highlighted with fresh morel mushroom and slate, with hints of cocoa and vanilla in the background. The palate is silky, with ultrafine tannins and tantalizing red berry-infused finish.

Felino Malbec $21.99

Intense dark garnet, with flecks of purple and indigo. The nose introduces floral notes at first, followed by intense redcurrant, raspberry, black cherry and a hint  of vanilla and white chocolate. Very bright on the  palate, with fleshy, polished tannins and a juicy berry  acidity that keeps this unique, assertive Malbec  focused.
