The Wines!

Seven Hills Pinot Gris 2013 Oregon

2013 was one of the warmer vintages in Northwest winegrowing history. Fortunately, it concluded with a long, mild fall with just enough moisture to give fully ripe berries offering optimal balance and flavor. We put just 10% of the wine in contact with new French oak to give the wine a hint of sweet spice and roundness. The wine shows citrus, spearmint, vanillin and hazelnut in the nose. The palate starts with sweet citrus fruit, layered with spearmint and vanillin, and a little ripe pear underneath. The finish is fruitful and brisk. It’s a delightful match with seafoods and vegetable dishes, even a grapefruit-avocado salad.

Vincent Girardin Macon-Fuisse ‘Les Vielles Vignes’ 2011 Pouilly Fussee, Macon, Burgundy, France

Grape: Chardonnay

The appellation Pouilly-Fuissé is the most prestigious of the Mâconnais region, made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes. A delicate and distinguished fine wine, green-gold in color. The local soil favors harmonious development of the Chardonnay aromas with notes of citrus, hazelnut, toasted almond and mineral notes. Complex and luscious.

Albert Bichot Morgon Cote du Puy Morgon, Beaujolais, France

Grape: Gamay

"Our Morgon Côte de Py has a beautiful garnet color and lively sparkling with deep purple hues. In the nose you will find aromas of cherry and kirsch; characteristics of Gamay, fine floral notes balanced by a nice minerality . On the palate this wine has notes of ripe fruit evolving towards notes of candied fruit, leather and undergrowth. Full and fleshy in the mouth, our Morgon offers beautiful structure with an intensely fruity finish."

Block Nine Pinot Noir 2013 California

100% French Oak

The 2013 Block Nine Pinot is beautifully long and rich in ripe cherry and berry flavors. The aromas exhibit generous bright fruit with a mix of strawberry, violets, plum, tea, and a hint of clove. Flavorful and silky in the mouth with good body, this wine is seductive showing wild cherries and a hint of sandalwood to complete its complex finish. The 2013 growing season was generous is length and consistent temperatures. Flavors were strong at harvest and we think 2013 will prove to be a terrific vintage.

The Prisoner 2013Napa Valley, California

Grapes: Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petit Sirah, Grenache, Charbono

 92 Points

“This dense, full-bodied, opulent red reveals gutsy, rich, peppery, meaty, blackberry, blackcurrant and licorice notes. A savory, lusty, heady red, it begs for a grilled steak or a big, juicy hamburger.” -Robert Parker for Wine Advocate, October 2014
