The Wines!!

St. Paul's Muller-Thurgau $18.99

This flavoursome white wine planted in higher locations that are not excessively warm. With its intensive aroma, with typical hints of nutmeg, it has a fresh and gently aromatic taste.
Pairings: Aperitif, fish, light appetizers

Orsolani "La Rustia" Erbaluce di Caluso $17.99

"Four keywords: seriousness, respect, work and territory." This year at Vinitaly I tasted with Gian Luigi Orsolani whose wine I had tasted before, and I have always liked the quirky Erbaluce grape; however I never had tasted the Orsolani Erbaluce di Caluso "La Rustia" and that's when those four words made sense. Gian Luigi is a soft spoken, gentle man who's so secure that he's done all the best he can that if you don't like his wine then you just don't understand Erbaluce and he would really like to help you learn. When I started tasting his wines we started with the less concentrated wines which are just wonderfully refreshing, snappy, and spicy and just a pleasure to drink. When we got to the La Rustia I was taken aback by the seriousness of the nose, a true step up from the regular and took a glance at the brochure Gian Luigi had given us, and a brief note next to a photo of the La Rustia bottles said "The unique personality of this wine comes from the strict grape selection and maniacal care for details." It was clear in tasting this wine that they had followed that brief description to the letter. ~ Greg St.Clair K&L's Italian Buyer

Groto del Sole Aglianico $14.99

Campania was one of the first places where wine production became known in the world. The best wines in ancient times, the Falerno, Greco, Faustiniano and Caleno were made in Campania. In this region there is a wide, high-quality variety of vines: falanghina, piedirosso, greco di tufo, fiano, aglianico, asprinio, biancolella, coda di volpe, are descendant of the ancient vineyards denominated Vitis Hellenica, Aminea Gemina, Vitis Apiana, Uve Alopeci, Aminea Lanata or Minuscola, etc. This ampelographic heritage represents the great richness of Campania, the only region which does not allow foreign vines in the production of its doc e docg (designations of origin). Although a small region, Campania offers different production areas in a territory that is 70% hills.

Chateau  LeScalle 2010 Bordeaux Superior $19.99

"A solid core of steeped cherry and black currant fruit is laced with hints of savory and pepper. Shows good cut on the finish, with a solid chalk note adding length."
