The Wines!!

Man O' War Sauvignon Blanc Waiheke Island $19.99

"We time the picking of the Sauvignon Blanc based on the acidity of the grapes so we are looking for a vibrant core of acid to provide the focus and length to the wine. The solids in the ferment provide tannin structure and a pleasing grapefruit finish which enhances the length. In a cool year such as 2011 we promote the acid and tannin to allow a small amount of natural residual sugar to remain in the wine providing texture and a little weight. The Sémillon adds another dimension to the wine and gives it an ability to age far more gracefully than a 100% Sauvignon blanc blend. This 2011 is fresh and fragrant with mineral chalk characters, citrus notes and hints of tropical fruits." The Winemaker

Albastrele Blanc de Cabernet, Moldova $12.99

A delightful white wine produced from a special technology of the red sort of Cabernet Sauvignon. The uniqueness of this method is that, upon extraction, the juice is sent to fermentation, and since all coloring agents remain in the removed skin, the wine turns a beautiful light golden color.

David Noyes Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast $26.99

Aromas of raspberry fruit, smoke and green tea invite a taste. On the palate the play of flavor between ripe red fruit, jam and green herbs call for matching with well flavored pasta dishes, mushrooms or mildly smoked meats. On the finish the sweet raspberry fruit brings a smile and an invites another sip.

Rara Neagra Red, Moldova $11.99

"the wines she's tasted from Moldova so far have been "off the charts good." Though it's a small country in between Romania and Ukraine, Moldova is a wine-producing powerhouse that used to provide a fifth of the wine consumed by the former Soviet Union, Canterbury says.

A red wine to look out for is rara neagra from the Purcari winery. Rara neagra is a red wine grape grown in the Republic of Moldova and Romania, which also has a region called Moldova that produces wine." Christy Canterbury

Bergevin Lane Calico Red $19.99

Tasting notes
"When we taste this wine with others for the first time, the common reaction is "WOW! That is GOOD!" We designed this wine to "over-deliver" in all aspects so that our customer has an incredible well-made and affordable wine for every day enjoyment.  The Calico has power, complexity and just enough smoothness to round out the tannins to give it mass appeal.  Hints of Cedar and Spice pounce on a “Raspcherry” nose. A gentle hint of powdered cocoa leads to broad strokes of dark chocolate and mouth filling blackberry on the palate. The texture is mouth filling and supple. Silky cherry and dark fruit find a smoky, earthy and gentle touch of oak and vanilla on the finish.

Open the bottle and drink with friends and family or try with a Grilled New York with cracked pepper." The Winemakers
