Early Mountain Vineyards (earlymountain.com)

with special guest Jonathan Hollerith, Vineyard Manager

Jonathan Hollerith’s family has worked in wine for generations. And since immigrating to the United States from Germany, the family has been instrumental in pioneering Virginia wine. Following in the family tradition, Jonathan went to the highly-esteemed UC Davis program to study viticulture and oenology. After graduating, he worked at different California wineries before moving to Germany to start his own. The promise of making high-quality wine brought him to Early Mountain Vineyards and he is thrilled to work with a group that shares his vision for true quality in Virginia.

Early Mountain Vineyards Philosophy

The Five Pillars

As we open our doors for the first time at Early Mountain Vineyards, we do so with a sense of gratitude for the many who have joined us on this journey. We've been mentored and encouraged along the way by some of the pioneers of the Virginia wine industry - and we've benefited from having a remarkable team that has worked tirelessly to bring this special place in Madison, Virginia, to life.

We are often asked what we are trying to accomplish, so I thought I’d use this occasion to share some thoughts on five pillars that are driving our efforts at Early Mountain Vineyards:
