Michel Turgy Grand Cru Cuvée Brut Blanc de Blancs "Réserve Sélection"  France- Mesnil sur Oger
"For this vintage, the Chardonnay expresses all its generosity and grand delicacy with its very harmonious flowery nose, and in the mouth expresses hints of apple and honey with a nice golden colour and a very seductive froth.
It is always a great pleasure to blend this Champagne for which I use grapes from over twenty different plots always with the aim of obtaining continuous quality."  This impressive blanc de blanc from grower producer Michel Turgy in the Grand Cru villages of Mesnil sur Oger, possesses all the rich. toasty opulence our imaginations associate with Champagne in general and are so rarely graced with in return.   Made in microscopic quantities compared to more commonly known "luxury" champagne houses, and priced unreasonably low for the quality, this is one luxury in which you should definitely indulge.

Cary Potet Montagny  1er Cru  'Les Jardins' 2011, France
Some stunning white Burgundies are being made in the Cote Challonaise, just south of the famous Cote de Beaune, if you know where to look.  Chateau Cary Potet is just one of these places.  Crafted from hand harvested old vine Chardonnay on the family's Premier Cru vineyards, the domaine's wines exhibit "impressive ripeness, vibrant acidity and a vinous texture that reminds one of a young Meursault, white Burgundy here overachieves on all counts—and also offers great value."  Opulence and thrift in one ultra sophisticated bottling.

Boucabeille Cotes du Rousillon  2011, France
One more reason to relocate to the south of France.  This soulful, southern French red is as juicy and ripe as it gets.  An estate bottled blend of organically grown: Grenache Noir (40%) – Syrah (30%) – Carignan (30%),  Perfume, polish, persistence, cherry liqueur, wild herbs and garrigue that stays fresh and lively.  An unbelievable value as well.

Gaillard Crozes Hermitage 2011, France
91 points The Wine Spectator: " Offers a plush feel, with smoky tea, bergamot, mulled plum and melted red licorice notes gliding through the suave finish, revealing a lingering mineral hint. Drink now through 2019. (10/31/13)"
From Northern Rhone legend Pierre Gaillard and his daughter Jeanne.

Burmester 10 Year Tawny Port, Portugal

by Roger Voss
"This dry, mature wine tastes older than a 10-Year-Old, with complex wood aging, spirit and acidity that have taken over from the fruitiness. It is serious and structured."
 (12/1/2014) — 91 points

With impressive freshness in the Portuguese style, this beautiful 10 year from 250+ year old Port house Burmester, dances across the palate with a liveliness that should attract new fans to Tawny Port while at the same time commanding the attention of longtime collectors.
