Every Thursday we open one bottle of very highly thought of wine - usually rated by the critics in the 90's, but , more importantly dearly valued by our staff - and we discount it by at least 20% so that you can enjoy the very finest at the best possible price!

We negotiate toughly with our suppliers and occasionally even have the wine makers available to answer your questions and explain their hopes for the wine.

Come join us for a taste of some of the very best, every Thursday!

MERITAGE

NAPA VALLEY RED 2010

80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot, 8% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc.

The 2008 of this bottling was such a smash hit we couldn't fill all your requests. When we tasted the 2010 we knew all the Meritage lovers out there would go crazy for this one!

A great choice for your Holiday meal.

92 Points! Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.

"Trinchero’s Cabernet Sauvignon-based 2010 Red Blend Meritage is gorgeous. Clean underlying veins of minerality frame the fruit in this deep, expressive red. Smoke, tobacco and incense develop in the glass, adding further complexity and nuance. This deep, meaty red can be enjoyed now or cellared for up to a decade-plus. There is no shortage of personality here. The 2010 is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot, 8% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2025. "

Our Thoughts on this wine.....

By its very nature, a Meritage wine — being a blend of Bordeaux varietals — should be balanced. Cabernet is the backbone, Petit Verdot adds color and aromatics, Merlot contributes to the mid-palate and the aromatics, and Cabernet Franc elongates the finish. It starts with rich dark plum, roasted tomato and baking spice aromas with floral, thyme and cola hints. Concentrated flavors of dried black cherries, all spice and dark plum lead into an opulent and silky mouthfeel with a lingering finish.”

About Trinchero..........

The grapes for Trinchero’s Napa Valley wines are sourced from their over 200 acres of estate vineyards in prime Napa Valleyappellations, including St. Helena, Mount Veeder, Rutherford and Atlas Peak. The wine was aged 15 months in 70% new French Oak. Mario Monticelli is the young winemaker, producing all of the Trinchero Napa Valley wines. Having grown up the son of a winemaker it was a natural progression for him. And his experience working for Philippe Melka, producing super elite Napa Cabs from the best vineyards throughout the valley made him the ideal candidate for Trinchero. Since coming on board with production of the 2007 vintage he has received an array of 90+ scores that rivals the best wineries.
