ESPORAO

MISSION – OUR REASON FOR BEING
“The Esporão project began in the Alentejo from an irrepressible desire to make the finest wines. This is the basis of everything we do and something we extend to other products and regions.

Everywhere, nature inspires us and helps us to improve. We respect and protect it, building a more promising future.

We believe that companies should serve society, and not the other way around. We aim to always operate in a responsible fashion. This responsibility is neither abstract nor merely collective: it is individual, including everyone who is involved with Esporão.

We encourage non-conformity, change and creativity, seeking to do better but not necessarily more. We have learnt that progress depends on the knowledge we develop and apply, as well as believing in what we do and putting our heart and soul into it.”

“To make the best products from what nature provides in a responsible and inspiring way.”

Esporao, one of Portugal's top wine and olive oil producers, enjoys an international presence for their comprehensive series of wines and delectable olive oil offerings. A family-owned and family-run corporation, Esporao also happens to be the largest privately held wine company in Portugal. Founded in 1973 by Jose Roquette and currently led by Jose's son, João Roquette, the youngest of six children and a man with avant-garde vision, Esporao brings a balanced blend of tradition and foresight, convention and innovation to their wine making practices and ultimately to the lofty lineup of Esporao wines.

The Wines!

Verdelho $16.99

A crisp white with excellent balance and drinkability. Some floral notes mix with the white fruit that dominates the nose and the palate.
Reserva Vinho Branco $20.99

Smooth, unctuous and rich, this is a gorgeous wine that offers ripe peach and pineapple fruits to go with the fine acidity and hint of spice. Ready to drink now, it could age.

Monte' Velho $12.99

?Reserva Roja $25.99

Ripe, juicy and spicy, this is already surprisingly delicious considering its solid, dark structure. Black fruits burst out, along with a sweet-and-sour character from acidity and ripe fruit flavor. It is also a good wine for aging, so drink through 2022.
Messias 10 year Tawny Port $29.99

Sweet tawny Port. Aroma to red fruits jam, combined with slight wood with vanilla hints.
