The Wines!!

Domaine Sorin Rose' 2014 $15.99

S i n c e 1994, native Burgundian, Luc Sorin along with wife Sergine and their daughter Audrey, have turned out a lovely array of wines from their small estate in St.-Cyr-sur-Mer, just two miles from the sea in sun-drenched Bandol. Utilizing no chemical fertilizers or pest control, the Sorins farm just over 14 hectares and produce several wines, most from the Cote du Provence appellation. The red grapes are vinified in 4 x 7,600 litre rotating oak casks with automatic crushers, These casks are the only ones of their kind in the world and were invented by the Domaine together with Seguin Moreau, the world famous barrel coopers

Sauvignon Blanc $14.99
2013 Sivas-Sonoma Sauvignon Blanc exudes a juicy, green apple and appealing herbaceous aroma complemented by bright citrus and melon flavors, a hint of minerality and refreshing acidity. Additional subtle flavors of Meyer lemon, guava and grapefruit meld seamlessly on the palate and contribute to a multilayered mouthfeel that is, at once rich and creamy, yet crisp and bright. The long, refreshing and crisp finish lingers on the palate. The versatility of our 2013 Sauvignon Blanc allows for pairing with a wide variety of dishes. Pinot Noir $20.99
2011 Pinot Noir has bold aromas of red currant, strawberries and cherry pie that lift out of the glass. The spicy complexity of the nose can be attributed to tobacco leaf and clove. Lush fruit flavors of grilled plum and black raspberry are prominent on the palate while toasty vanilla notes play a supporting role. This wine draws you in with its exotic bouquet and finishes with hints of earthy morel mushrooms. Our 2011 Pinot Noir pairs well with a wide array of foods, including fresh rigatoni and roasted vegetables, Duck Confit or even lobster risotto.

Cabernet Sauvignon $22.99
Our 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon is a bold wine showcasing aromas of blackberry cobbler, mission fig, sorghum molasses and a touch of cigar box. It unfolds with ripe flavors of blackberry, black plum and black cherry coupled with cocoa and dusty cedar notes. Extended aging in both French and American oak lends subtle hints of vanilla and cardamom. Ripe, velvety tannins are smooth across the mid-palate leading to a pleasant, lingering finish. This substantial Cabernet Sauvignon pairs nicely with grilled loin chops or a savory lamb stew.

Scents of nutmeg and warm spices are woven together with layers of dark black fruit flavors, black strap molasses, Mexican chocolate and pomegranate reduction. A hint of dill and black pepper on the palate are rounded out by bold vanilla from American oak aging. The 12% Petite Sirah adds rich color, depth of flavor and a tannic backbone to create a wine with wonderful structure and intensity. Bright acidity complements this vibrant, medium-plus bodied Zinfandel making it the perfect accompaniment to hearty meals such as beef brisket, lasagna or Cioppino.
