Every weekend we have free tastings that give you a chance to explore the wide word of wines! 

Each Friday we try to start your weekend off with a sampling of fine wines and beers that will allow you to relax into your "days off" with a positive note. Always a gathering of friends and neighbors and good conversation.

Iona Savignon Blanc 2014
Iona is the coolest vineyard in the Cape, 420m above sea-level, high above the picturesque Elgin Valley.
Fragrance of pure white grapefruit, intense tropical fruit, ripe gooseberry and fleshy kiwi fruit over-lay Iona's distinctive herbal and floral undertones. The palate is keenly balanced showing cut green apples and lime marmalade followed by great minerality and length.

 

              Mellasat White Pinotage 2013
           Located in Paarl, the worlds first White Pinotage. Whole bunch pressing prevents juice from obtaining color.  Barrel fermented and matured for eleven months with lees. Wine has a slightly nutty, creamy character. 100% Pinotage with essence of tropical pineapple and banana flavors.


              
       
    Post House Blueish Black 2013
34 Shiraz 29 Pinotage 18 Cabernet 19 Merlot. From Stellenbosch, Dark blueish black wine.  A nose of mulberries,red currant and ripe strawberries with a hint of pepper and spice. Full bodied rich wine with supple soft tannins for easy drinking. The grapes were fermented separately, using selected and natural yeast’s from the vineyard. 

 

            Post House Missing Virgin 2012
70 Pinotage 30 Petit Verdot   A red blend of Pinotage and Petit Verdot grapes resulting in a full bodied wine  with supple tannins.A hint of blueberries, fruit cake and fynbos  (wild heath0 on the nose with a rounded long and lingering finish.

 


Post House Penny Black  2012
32 Shiraz 27 Merlot 27 Cab Sav 9 Petit Verdot 4 Chenin Blanc  An elegant wine with a soft entry but with a firm but supple finish. Rich and Dark inky black color. Initial nose of floral petals, and fynbos (South African heath), blackcurrant, fruitcake, white pepper and spice. Rounded tannins and ample fruit results in a layered and complex wine with a lingering finish.
