Every weekend we have free tastings of wine and beer that give you a chance to explore the wide world!
Come in this weekend and visit with us!

Saturday afternoon, a time for chores and yard work and running to do all the things that have waited all week! Take a break!

Come by the shop and sample new wines and microbrews that will be certain to bring a smile to your face.

Just relax with friends and neighbors.

This is a very special Saturday that will kick off early (at 11:00 a.m.) with Winemaker Paul Direder
in the shop with us to sample his unbelievably priced  high quality Rose' and Gruner Veltliner!!
Paul will only be with us until 1:00 p.m. or so.

In the meantime, Tim Quinn, of Shore Boys Soups fame. will set up and get the soup warm for your Saturday lunch!!
And , what do you know, the wine and beer tastings continue with the addition of two of Austrian Winemaker of the year, Anton Bauer's wines and the 91 point Pinot Gris from Ernest Steindorfer!!
What better way to spend a small portion of your weekend!!
 

Winemaker Paul Direder?

?Paul D. pours his passion and love into winemaking for you to enjoy. Working in his own vineyards since he was 17, today the lonesome cowboy of winegrowing and farming produces light high quality wines for your everyday enjoyment. When Paul D.’s great-great-grandfather started with classic agriculture and vineyards more than 160 years ago, he did not anticipate his wine would win the appeal of customers throughout the world.

Rose'

Look: clear, bright, springtime green. 
Aroma: fresh, yellow apple, pear, ripe citrus fruit 
Taste: green apple, pineapple, smooth with a light ginger taste 
Serve with: chicken or fish dishes, risottos
 Facts: 1 liter bottle – 11.5% Alc. 6.4 g/l 
 

Gruner Veltliner

Look: clear, bright, brilliant orange with dusky pink Smell: fruity, berry, gooseberry, rose 
Taste: honey, strawberry, dried apricot, fresh and fruity, soft and smooth 
Serve with: all types of seafood

Steindorfer Pinot Gris $18.99

Beautiful aromas of stone fruits and a touch of smoke leading to a full palate with clean minerality. Some tropical notes and a long crisp, but full finish. Similar to a great Pinot Gris from Oregon. 

Anton Bauer Wagram Cuvee' $17.99
Cherry fruit with amaretto tones, red berries and herbs. On the palate cherry fruit again, with dark berry aromas and a pleasant background of herbs, good extract fruit, fine soft tannin. It finishes with a dry elegance and delicately herb tones of chocolate and cherries. Although absolutely delicious on its own, it will complement beef, duck, grilled pork, tuna, and rich red sauces

Anton Bauer Zweigelt $14.99
A very elegant wine, harmonious, filled with ripe black cherry and subtle mocha notes. The palate features ripe deep fruit with a gentle smooth medium-bodied mouth feel. The finish is long and has slightly spicy peppery nuances. Austrian reds feature amazingly pure fruit flavors– have this Zweigelt with your next barbeque or at your next party!
