The Wines!!

Emmolo Sauvignon Blanc $ 29.99

With a light straw color, the 2014 vintage opens with the soft aromas of melon and white peach, with an underlying note of pantry spice. On the palate, this wine offers a flinty first impression, evoking the freshness of summer rain hitting pavement. An initial tartness quickly dissipates,
yielding to the wine’s minerality. Lean but with a fleshy fruit body, this wine remains dry and maintains interest with a lingering lime citrus finish.

“I’m going after a subtle wine that is more minerality-driven than fruit-driven. In my view, with sauvignon blanc, less is more.”
 - Jenny Wagner / Winemaker

Carne Humana White Blend $22.99

Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon were picked at the same time and co-fermented as a single lot.  These varietals give the wine the bulk of its dry crisp character.  The Sauvignon Blanc was perfectly ripe so as to not retain any green character and to provide gorgeous tropical fruit flavors of passion fruit, pineapple and guava.  The Semillon was picked just before peak ripeness to preserve the bright acidity and tangy backbone it is known for when picked at the optimum time.  Chardonnay was blended in prior to bottling and provides attractive pear and lemon flavors.

Tasting Notes:
Color: Very pale and delicate straw.
Aromatics: Intense fruit aromas of pear, pineapple, guava, and lemon custard.
Palate: A crisp and dry character with bright pear tones integrated with subtle citrus flavors and fruity, tropical highlights.  The palate is mellow with a slight creamy mouthfeel that gives way to a long, bright and clean finish.
Structure: Lean, tight minerality, a fleshy middle palate, and a rich tropical finish.

Elouan Pinot Noir Willamette $28.99

Ruby red in color. Rich cranberry, sweet cinnamon and bright cherry create an inviting bouquet, with hints of mushroom and a subtle earthiness. Harmonious and elegant on the palate with firm acidity that accentuates a flavor profile of red plum, dusty earth, a hint of sweet tobacco, hibiscus and a soft green tea finish, creating rustic, complex layers of flavor with soft, refined tannins.

Carne Humana Red $39.99

For our 2012 Carne Humana Proprietary Red Wine we blended 100% Napa Valley fruit, the preponderance of which was grown within the borders of the original rancho.  All of the fruit was co-fermented and barrel-aged as unique blends.  This allowed the various grape types to integrate with each other early on, and also for the different vineyards to achieve greater harmony in the final blend.  After an extended maceration of almost 60 days, we aged the wine in a combination of new and seasoned French oak barrels for about 18 months.

Tasting Notes:
Color.  Deep scarlet with a slightly purplish-black core.
Aromatics.  Blackberry, dark chocolate, black licorice, ripe cherry, hints of black pepper and cured meat.
Palate.  Hint of sweet tobacco, maple, cherry pie filling, black licorice and an enlivened, bright acidity on the entry that is quickly followed by rich, dark fruits, dried cranberry and sweet oak.  Lingering finish.
Structure.  Rich and bold, balanced by acidity and integrated tannin.

Beran Zinfandel $24.99

Beran California Zinfandel 2012 is a true representation of what Zinfandel can offer with the ripeness of the warmer regions and brightness from cooler regions. Grapes picked at optimum ripeness combined with extended fruit maceration over 30 days at times then laid to rest for 12 months in a combination of American and French oak has created a flavor-packed, easy-drinking zin with a soft, supple mouthfeel and balanced acidity. Zinfandel is one of the most expressive and distinctive grape varieties and when made well should continue to evolve and improve in the bottle.
Color: Deep dark red with a black core and purple hues
Aromatics: Smoky, sweet cedar vanillin notes, cassis, cranberry, sweet tobacco, and cooked dark fruits like warm Blackberry pie.
Palate: Flavors of red licorice, dried cherry and ripe dark berry fruits are complexed with hints of sweet tobacco, a slight dustiness
Structure: Very soft refined tannins balanced by a fresh acidity
