The Wines!!

Domaine Chene Macon Village $18.99

a lively bouquet of green apples and flowers (acacia is notable) and good, crisp persistent Chardonnay fruit that sends a wake up call to the senses. It is the perfect all-purpose white wine, served chilled but not ice-cold. This Chardonnay goes particularly well with lighter fish and fowl dishes, shrimp and crab, cold meats, and is also a perfect aperitif.

Domaine de Villargeau Sauvignon Blanc Coteaux de Giennois $16.99

Brimming with pear, melon and citrus fruit, this refreshing Sauvignon Blanc is a real find. A perfect partner for oysters or a plate of mackerel pate' and toast. Equally delicious served with chicken Caesar salad, tuna Nicoise or a simple seafood pizza

Jean Royer Petit Roy $20.99

This is not made to be a prestige wine or something to ooh and ah over. It is, rather, true table wine, made for food, made to be simple, direct and delicious. There is no need to overthink. Yet, the quality of the fruit belies a wine of more than twice the price and the wine is astonishingly open and ready to drink at such a young age.

Raised in concrete with mostly Grenache leading the way over the Syrah and Mourvedre that round out this blend, this is a wine with a classic Grenache driven noise of fresh cherries and spices. This wine is lifted rather than heavy and dark. The palate is filled with spice, pepper and comes off as very fresh and aromatic. The wine has excellent balance, and shows the impressive qualities of the Southern Rhone: aromatic complexity, acid, and slightly lighter alcohols than the norm.

Chateau Massiac Minervois Rouge $18.99

Chateau Massiac's Minervois Rouge is dark ruby in color and offers big fruit and blackcurrant flavors, with more herbal notes emerging as it age.

Jean Royer Chateauneuf-du-Pape Tradition $39.99

The Royer family has a century old past as winegrowers in Chateauneuf du Pape.
The father of Jean-Marie Royer died when Jean-Marie was a child and for some years all the their land was let out to other vignerons. As a young man Jean Royer helped his Grandmother in her small vineyards and when she died he inherited a small part of her fields. In 1985, having finished his viticulture schooling, Jean-Marie returned to the family vineyards and over the years he has bought more land from the family and today he owns 6 ha. with 90% Grenache and 10% Syrah/Mourvedre
