Each Friday we try to start your weekend off with a sampling of fine wines and beers that will allow you to relax into your "days off" with a positive note. Always a gathering of friends and neighbors and good conversation.

Hillcrest Sauvignon Blanc $17.99

A refreshing surprise in a category crowded with tropical and grass and wannabees. Hillcrest Sauvignon Blanc has a lemongrass nose, fresh summer salad greens, something savory, an intriguing hint of jalepeno and good minerality. e aromas are intense and the flavors reflect the aromas with layered density. e wine fills the mouth with a good and well-balanced acidity that is crisp but not angular or sharp. It has a consistent creamy, round full body with a great lime and gooseberry length. The flavors continue to re-appear long afterwards. 

Split Creek Chardonnay $16.99

The color is light straw, and the aromas are clean with dominant notes of honeysuckle and Golden Delicious apple. Hints of spice comes through on the nose. On the palate, the wine is elegant with clean, refreshing flavors of citrus, melon, and peach. the finish is creamy in the mouth, with and integrated oak. 

Split Creek Pinot Noir $ 19.99

Beautifully concentrated aromas of black tea, bright cherries, and ancho chile spice. The luscious palate shows layers of raspberry, strawberry, cola followed by a long lingering finish.

Il Cuore Zinfandel $13.99

This wine has a mild aroma suggesting dark cherries with a woodsy and peppery note. The wine is medium-bodied and is supple on the palate, with pleasing flavors of ripe berries, plums and black pepper. It is a classically styled elegant wine.
