The History

Proemio - Prologue in old Medieval Spanish, stands for kick- start or first page. This is indeed the beginning of the winery’s story. In 2001, Marcelo Bocardo, third generation winemaker and the descendant of a traditional Italian immigrant family founded Proemio with the goal of producing high quality wines that truly represent his ancestors’ passion for viticulture and a legacy for the generations to come.

Our Vision

At Proemio, we nurture our vines and have adopted a sustainable approach, caring for the environment and having a positive role in the local community. Our grapes are sourced from diverse terroirs with unique soils, altitude and climates.

Our Mission

To produce authentic and well-structured wines that express true varietal character while offering a great value to our consumers worldwide.

Our mission is to become Mendoza’s iconic winery for the excellence of our wines, our professionalism and our devotion to the preservation of our natural resources.

A sweet start of mouth, followed by an ample and intense feel in the mid palate, with a silky and rounded tannin texture. It stands out for its fruity character and the crispiness of its well- balanced acidity. A long and lingering finish, with the presence of sweet and fresh wooden flavors. The body of this wines makes an ideal match for semi- hard cheeses, or grilled or barbecued red meat, or pastas.

Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve $22.99

Ruby- red wine, with good aromatic intensity, and touches of pepper and roasted red pepper, with some paprika or dry pepper, followed by a sweetness given by the red and black fruits. The vanilla aroma blends with the wooden notes and are fully integrated ageing in French oak barrels. A great structure in the mouth is a key feature of this year's vintage. Tannins are well condensed with anthocyanins, adding red hues, and resulting in a roundness and softness in which the typical structure of Cabernet prevails. Valle de Uco produces this varietal with notable structure, which makes it suitable for long- term storage. The body of this wine makes it an ideal match for semi- hard or aged cheeses, or important and complex dishes of spiced red meat or pastas.

Gran Reserve Bordeaux Blend $29.99

This wine displays a purple/ red colour as well as great intensity and depth. In the nose, it is intense and complex. It displays red fruits aromas like mulberry, blueberries and blackberries such as blackcurrant and cassis. Malbec adds the typical oral note of the violet, while the Cabernet Sauvignon grants its characteristics spiced and menthol aromas. The 18- month ageing in French oak barrels grants the unmistakable notes of vanilla, clove and spices. In the mouth, it is a mature, complex full bodied and well structured wine. Its entry is gentle, and then is ample in the middle of the mouth, where Merlot adds mild, rounded and enveloping tannins. Syrah grants spicy and voluptuous notes. Its finish is long and elegant.
