The Wines!!

2014 Brandborg Pinot Gris $17.99

Brandborg Winery is located in Elkton, OR in the Umpqua Valley.  In 2015 Brandborg was named "2015 Oregon Winery of the Year" by Wine Press Northwest.

2014 Left Coast Truffle Hill Chardonnay $21.99

90 Points WS - Suggested Retail $24
"Crisp in texture and generous with ripe pear, apricot and mineral flavors, focused into a taut beam. The finish expands and becomes more expressive. Drink now through 2020".

2013 Left Coast Cali's Cuvee Pinot Noir $24.99

90 Points WS - Suggested Retail $24
"Light, focused and nicely detailed, weaving pepper and clove notes through cherry and plum flavors, hovering easily over the fine-grained finish. Drink now through 2021."

2011 Basel Cellars Claret, Walla Walla, WA $21.99

This is a delicious red wine from Columbia Valley and is a blend of Cab Sauv, Merlot, Syrah, Cab Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot.  This is poured by the glass at L'Auberge Chez Francois.

2011 was an OK year in Columbia Valley, but in this case that's a good thing.  The flagship wine of Basel Cellars is called the Merriment and is an incredible wine, but they don't make it every year.  So, in 2011 all the juice for the Merriment went into the Claret making this an exceptional value.

2011 Barrage AKA Merlot, Woodinville, WA $27.99

90 Points WA
"Another outstanding wine from this estate, the inky colored 2011 AKA Merlot offers stunning purity and elegance to go with lots of plum, menthol, pen ink and hints of licorice and oak. Made from 100% Merlot and aged 28 months in 30% new French oak, it has medium+-bodied richness, a seamless, silky texture and nicely integrated acidity. The oak stands out slightly (which is a one knit I had with most of Kevin’s wines), but this shines for its fruit. Drink it over the coming 4-6 years.

I was impressed by these 2011s from Barrage Cellars, and they commented that the wines benefited from additional time in barrel. In general, I found the opposite to be true, but these handled the extended élevage beautifully."

2012 Efeste Final Final Cabernet Sauvignon, Woodinville, WA $39.99

Winemaker notes:  Composed of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Syrah, 3% Mourvèdre, and 2% Cabernet Franc. As a blend primarily incorporating two of our two favorite red grapes, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, this wine comes from almost all of our vineyard sources. Final Final is a blend specifically crafted to highlight how well Washington can put together a unique composition that exemplifies richness and balance, while screaming: “THIS IS WASHINGTON!!”

91+ Points - Steven Tanzer
"Bright ruby-red. Sexy, spicy new oak scents complement aromas of black raspberry and licorice. An intense, juicy midweight with excellent delineation to its lush, sweet flavors of dark berries and flowers. Boasts excellent intensity and length, with firm tannins in harmony with the wine's fruit. "
