The Wines!!

The Netzl winery is a small family owned and operated estate vineyard located in the heart of the wine-growing region of Carnuntum, in the village of Göttlesbrunn. The Netzl’s produce mainly complex and structured red wines (75%), as well as fresh, fizzy and aromatic whites. Their goal is to maintain elegance, finesse and character in the wine which make the aromas in the glass and the pleasure of the wine a unique experience. They have been garnering much praise and recognition of late, being named runner-up Austrian winemaker of the year , and more importantly were presented the coveted  Falstaff Rotweinguide 2016, the top red wine of the year awarded to their 2013 Anna Christina.

Grüner Veltliner $14.99

Marked aroma of lush rich tropical fruits, green  apple, and white flowers, with a fresh and balanced palate of juicy summer fruits, crisp minerality, and a slight pepper finish .

Carnuntum Chardonnay $18.99

The Chardonnay grapes love the perfect conditions of  “pannonian” climate with the deep and nutritious soils of the vineyard Haidacker. So they develop their very intensive and exotic aromatic with some nice acidity on the palate, due to the cooler influences of the river Danube during the nights.
Vinification: Harvested and selected by hand at the end of September, single-berry-selection in the cellar, fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at about 20 °C to preserve a fresh and crispy style. Lots of juice and spice in the nose, yellow apples, melons, nice acidity, fresh and animating.

 Rosanna Rosé ,  Zweigelt $13.99

Named for daughter Anna Marie, or Rosanna this is a 100% Zweigelt Rose that is fresh, cheerful ,with lots of berry and ripe fruit. Showing the ripe spicy side of Zweigelt in a mild dry version with loads of fruit and fleshy berry qualities, Rosanna is a darling rose for the summer. It's limited, so enjoy it while we have it. 

Carnuntum Cuvée $16.99

This beautiful Carnuntum blend of Zweigelt, Blaufrankisch, and Merlot is aged for a few months in large oak barrels. The wine has a ruby garnet color, red berries in the nose and nice herbal nuances. On the palate it is very smooth showing nice ripe tannins.

Rubin Carnuntum Zweigelt $24.99

100% Zweigelt is aged in small used French oak barrels which gets to be called “Rubin Carnuntum”, a regional trademark. It has a dark ruby garnet color with ripe cherry fruit in the nose. Great fruit on the palate, very balanced and ripe tannins on the long pleasant finish, with a charm and elegance that drinks more intense than typical.

Anna-Christina, Bordeaux Blend $54.99

Named by Falstaff the number best Austrian red of 2016! A selection of the best barrels and the combination of the best Zweigelt , meaty fruit of Cabernet Sauvignon and the viscosity of the velvet Carnuntum Merlot all contribute to this blockbuster wine. Earthy oak and stone on the nose before black fruits shimmer through. Juicy black fruits, spicy cinnamon, hints of tobacco and oak are anchored by smooth, supple tannins while the fruit flavors echo soft vanilla notes.
