The Wines!!

Picpoul de Pinet, Languedoc $8.99

Crystal clear with green highlights, though can be more golden from older vines,
Soft, delicate nose, with pleasant hints of acacia and hawthorn blossom.
Delicate and fresh in the mouth it has an excellent acid/structure balance.

It neutralizes the salt and iodine in shellfish and other crustaceans, and is surprisingly good with rich cheese and charcuterie.

Rubus Sauvignon Blanc $14.99

The Rubus 2015 Sauvignon Blanc was produced from grapes grown in selected Waipara Valley vineyards.
The extended growing season of warm, fine days and cool nights ensured the fruit was harvested in wonderful condition mid April, 2015.

This wine shows rich gooseberry and tropical fruit aromas with an edge of complexity. The palate is lively and refreshing with a long, lingering finish.

Alain Jaume' Haut de Brun, Cotes du Rhone $14.99

The color is purple-tinged garnet. The aromatic range of the nose goes from fresh berries (wild raspberry, blackcurrant, blackberry) to spices. The palate is big and full-flavoured, with silky-smooth tannins and aromas of the fruit already mentioned. The finish introduces touches of liquorice and pepper. A Côtes du Rhône with great complexity for an every day drinking.

A classic Rhône to drink between 1 and 4 years. Best poured at 17°C

Rubus Shiraz, Barossa $18.99

This richly concentrated Barossa Shiraz is indicative of the style for which Australia's top production region is famous. The wine is dark in color, rich and dense. There are ample tannins balanced by the powerful fruit. You will note the hints of blackberries, mint, and eucalyptus flavors upfront and in the finish.

This particular wine and vintage received 92 points and Editor's Choice with Wine Enthusiast Magazine.

Thorn-Clark Shotfire Quartage $19.99

When the Clarke forebearers discovered gold in 1870 at the Lady Alice mine in the Barossa goldfields, so began a family dynasty intrigued by geology. A fine legacy that is reflected today in the terroir of our vineyards. The Shotfire range immortilizes the Shotfirer's hazardous job of setting and lighting the charges in the mines.

Shotfire Quartage is based on the five traditional red varieties found in the Bordeaux region of France (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec). The Thorn-Clarke winemakers use at least four of the varieties to create the blend each year (occasionally, they can get over excited and use all five). The blend is a reminder to not only look to the future but also to keep an eye on the past and tradition.

Deep red with brick hues. Lifted berry, cinnamon, nutmeg and dried oregano aromas. The palate doesn't disappoint with a multitude of flavors melding together to form the wines flavor, starting with red berries and anise. On release, the tannins for the fruit and oak are firm and long, the generosity of fruit is balanced by an elegance provided by natural acidity. The wine is full-bodied and complete.
