The 90+ Wines!!

Lot 126 Sancerre $19.99

Story

From the lofty Piton, or hilltop, of Sancerre, ancient soils of limestone and silex cascade toward the western bank of Loire River. This distinct soil, perched on a base of Kimmeridgian marl, is why Sauvignon Blanc from Sancerre has found its way onto the world's top restaurant wine lists. This is a wine with an aristocratic heritage and a welcoming character.

Taste

A delicate perfume of white flowers with hints of citrus and flint give way to a silken texture and grapefruit-laced finish. Balanced and crisp, this is a wine destined for the finest tables, but happiest among a humble goat cheese topped salad.

Lot 123 Chardonnay $ 14.99

Story

The Arroyo Seco forms from rainwater and snowmelt rushing from the Santa Lucia mountains into the Salinas Valley below. Over centuries, the force of those waters formed the unique landscape of California's smallest viticultural area. Here, Chardonnay vines spring up from alluvial soils, and ripen according to the seasonal cycle of cool evening air, intense morning fog and warm daytime sunshine. Out of this beautifully rugged terrain come some of California's most flavorful white wines.

Taste

Tropical aromas of citrus and pineapple dominate, underneath which you'll discover more subtle hints of vanilla, baking spices and a bit of campfire. It has a creamy, full-bodied texture, but enough creaminess to make your mouth water for another sip. Try it with grilled corn on the cob and chili lime butter, or crispy fried chicken.

Lot 75 Pinot Noir $19.99

Story

This Pinot Noir is made from berries hand-picked from vines scattered about the lush hills and cool valleys of Sonoma's Russian River. In this blissful landscape dotted with lofty redwoods between which morning fog slithers, precious grapes are collected and brought to the winery where they are fermented and aged for nine months in French and American oak barrels. This is no ordinary Pinot Noir.

Taste

Pensively purple in color and alluringly scented with marvelous aromas of juicy black cherry fruit, cocoa and ginger backed by lurking notes of cardamom and violets. The wine's flavors are boldly expressive and distinctly stacked upon one another as if they were painted by Rothko.

Shiraz $12.99

Story

This wine doesn't need a kangaroo or critter to get your attention. The proof is in the bottle. It's a real, honest to goodness Shiraz from a talented winemaker who's been producing blockbuster wines for over 20 years. The grapes are cultivated in vineyards nestled in the McLaren ranges of coastal South Australia. Here, cool sea breezes ripen the grapes slowly, resulting in a wine that exhibits the perfect balance of color, fruit, and spice.

Taste

Inky in color with seductive aromas of spicy dark fruit and perfumed plums. The wine is full-bodied, round, and juicy with subtle trails of vanilla in the finish. You'll love this wine with savory short ribs, hearty stews, or a juicy cheeseburger off the grill.

Ironside Cabernet Sauvignon $17.99

Stainless steel fermented with up to 8 months barrel age in a blend of new and used French Oak.

To quote Donald Trump, the vintages of 2012 and 2013 were “HUGE.” In fact, they were record-breaking. 2014
was pretty big too, despite an 8% drop from the previous year. An early bud break and a smaller crop size resulted in accelerated ripening and one of the earliest harvests on record. An extended drought and unexpected earthquake did their best to mess with the vines, but quality reigned in the end. Grape bunches consisting of small berries with good concentration were the norm across most California wine regions. This is especially true of Paso Robles, where water is scarcer than ever. Here, the grapes ended up with a high skin to juice ratio.

The 2014 vintage of Iron Side Cabernet Sauvignon comes to you from Mendocino and Paso Robles. Out of all the wines we tasted, the wines from these two regions came together and just clicked. The Cabernet from Mendocino provided the wine’s classic aroma and texture; Paso Malbec added weight and richness, and the Petite Sirah delivered color and length. The best rock bands sometimes consist of only three members, talented enough to maintain intensity AND clarity from start to finish. This wine is no different.

It’s a pleasure to bring to you our third vintage of Iron Side Cabernet Sauvignon. The look may have changed a little, but you can expect the same bold, electrifying experience when you pop the cork.
