The Wines!!

Antxiola Txakolina 2015
Tasting Notes: This young, very dry white wine, unique to the Basque Country, has subtle and delicate aromas on the nose with lively acidity on the palate. It's like watching the sea lands that produce it, slightly acid, carbonic and fresh.?

Food Pairing Suggestion: Try Shellfish and Potatoes a la Mariniere

Serving Notes: It is customary to serve Txakoli by breaking it against the glass to ensure that, together with the small carbonic bubbles, the fruit and whole range of fruity aromas are shown in the glass.

About Getariako Txakolina: Located in Spain’s Basque Country, this region generally produces white wine that shares affinities with Vinho Verde of Portugal. These wines are usually sold young, slightly sparkling, and low in alcohol, and are called Txakoli. The variety comes from a small region around the towns of Getaria, Zarutz, and Aia. Getariako Txakolina is the principal appellation of this region, but is still one of Spain’s smallest DOs. Around 900,000 liters are produced per year, mostly on southeast facing slopes to protect the vines from the harsh Atlantic weather. Unlike the other varieties which are grown as most varieties of grapes, the grapes for this Txakoli are cultivated at a greater height above the ground, with the foliage forming a contiguous canopy to improve the microclimate.

Gaudio Verdelho 2014  $
"A wonderful wine produced with 100% of the Verdelho grape variety. A variety that was very important in the southern region of Portugal many decades ago, until it was decimated by phylloxera plague. The grape is back today and is particularly well adapted to the southern Portuguese climate and Moinho Branco terroir. It reveals hints of tropical fruit, spices and mineral notes in the nose. In the mouth it is full, fresh and has a long finish."

Quinta de Gomariz Vinho Verde "Espadeiro" Rose
Uniquely from the Espadeiro grape variety, it is a pink-coloured wine with salmon shades, presenting itself lively to the nose with the presence of floral and wild fruit notes, revealing in the mouth all its splendor.  With the slight spritz you have come to love in traditional Vinho Verdes-this rose is so much fun and full of refreshing berry fruit!

Quinta de Cabriz Dao 2014 $

A crisp and minerally red with concentrated flavors of dried cherry, roasted plum and dried raspberry layered with rich, spicy notes. Whited chocolate notes show on the finish accented with hints of pepper. Drink now through 2020.

Quinta da Pacheca Superior 2012 $
Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão

Foot trodden and fermented in 14 ton traditional stone tanks (lagares) for 7 days.
After the malolactic fermentation in stainless steel vats the wine was racked into new French oak barrels for 6 months ageing.
?Pacheca Superior is very concentrated, with intense mature red fruit aroma, hints of violets and cocoa. This wine has a great structure, full bodied, matured round tannins, with a long persistent finished.

La Conreria D'Scala Dei "Nona" Petit Priorat 2012 $
75% Grenache, 10% Carignan, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah

From two vineyards in the Vilella Alta of Spain's Priorat region.   Aged 10 months in French Allier oak.  Cherry color with purple shades, an intense bouquet of strawberries and red currant.  Slightly spicy with some toast and smoky hints, full bodied and fresh with ripe tannins and a sweetly herbal finish.
