Every weekend we have free tastings that give you a chance to explore the wide word of wines! 

Each Friday we try to start your weekend off with a sampling of fine wines and beers that will allow you to relax into your "days off" with a positive note. Always a gathering of friends and neighbors and good conversation.

Pinot Grigio Santa Alessandra 2015, Cantina Bennati Santa Allessandra $13.99

Color: Gold colored, with shades of coppery or yellow onion peel. Fragrance: It starts its olfactory sensations with mineral hints and fruity ones like pomegranate. Hints of white fruit, pear and Golden apple. Flavour: Its flavour is full and rich, with hints of ripe yellow fruit. Structured and balanced, long and complex, its strong taste makes it a wine with a strong personality and versatile. Food Pairings: Hearty soups, risotto, pasta with tomato, white meat or fish sauces. It goes well with white meats, fried or baked fish, or fish with tomato sauce. Ideal as aperitif. Serving Temperature: 12 - 14°C.

 

Custoza D.O.C. 2014 – Cantine Sartori Amerigo Vespucci $12.99

Description: The beautiful and loved Garda hillside is the birthplace of this young, light and lively white wine. It has a greenish colour with slight, pale yellow reflections. Custoza White is a light wine, easy to drink on any occasion. Served: Accompanies smoked cheese, fish and shellfish. It is also recommended as an aperitif. Serve between 8 and 10°C. Alcohol: 11,5% by vol.

 

Sangiovese Arbos 2013,  Famiglia Castellani $12.99

Arbos is an higher quality of Sangiovese “in purezza” produced on hilly vineyards sloping down to the sea and partially aged in barriques for a certain period. It is selected by the Castellani family, following strict quality standards concerning the colour, the alcohol content, the bouquet. A final tasting by Castellani experts authorizes the wine to be named under the name “Arbos”, symbol of excellence worldwide.

Colour: Ruby red colour with garnet reflections.

Bouquet: Elegant and fruity with hints of pepper and wild cherry.

Taste: Full bodied, round and perfumed, easy to drink.

Montepulciano D’abruzzo Nobile delle Rocche 2014, Cantine Galasso $10.99

Vestini Area. This is an area which goes from the Adriatic sea coast to the high mountains of Gran Sasso d’Italia (2.910 m a.s.l.). Here the distance between the coast and the high mountains is no more than 40 km creating a micro-climate with sharp temperature excursions particularly suitable to the wine growing.

Colour: Ruby red deep colour with violet glare.

Bouquet: Strong and fruity with scents of red fruit and liquorice.

Flavour: Medium bodied, soft and well-balanced.

            Best with: It is ideal wine for full meal. Best with meat dishes as well as with cheese of medium ageing.
