Every weekend we have free tastings that give you a chance to explore the wide word of wines! 

Each Friday we try to start your weekend off with a sampling of fine wines and beers that will allow you to relax into your "days off" with a positive note. Always a gathering of friends and neighbors and good conversation.

The Wines!

2014 Cannonball Chardonnay

Winemaking: Our 2014 vintage of Chardonnay is much like the 2012 vintage, showing delicacy and finesse over structure and intensity. With this vintage, both oak impact and malo-lactic influence were kept to

a minimum, allowing the wine to show its noble heritage. This Chardonnay was fermented and aged in 50% French oak and 50% stainless steel, creating a wine both authentic and wonderfully balanced.

Aromas: One is immediately struck with complex and racy notes. Aromas of light pineapple, sweet spice, vanilla, honeysuckle and minerality.

Taste and flavors: The taste has a full entry and continues with delicate melon and citrus flavors. The finish is long and bright with a smooth texture and delicate  flavors.

 

2015 Astrolabe Sauvignon Blanc, New Zealand

  Colour/Appearance: Pale straw with green highlights.

·  Aroma/Bouquet: Lemon grass, lime peel and elderflower, with background notes of white currant and red pepper.

 Palate: Medium-bodied with white peach, gooseberry and citrus flavours, and a dry mineral finish.

  Cellaring: Best enjoyed when young and fresh, but has the potential to age gracefully.

  Suggested Foods: Summer salads, poultry and all seafood, especially green-lipped mussels.

  Serve Chilled.

 

2013 Cannonball Merlot

Winemaking: This vintage comes from our estate vineyard, Adam and Eve, in the Northern Russian River Valley, as well as some favorite vineyards in Sonoma Valley. Fermentation was controlled with a cold soak prior to yeast inoculation and draining and pressing at 2 Brix prior to seed tannin extraction. The 2014 is 91% Merlot blended with small amounts of Petite Sirah and Syrah for complexity.

Aromas: The aroma of the wine shows fresh huckleberries, light brown spice and nuances of toasty oak.

Taste and flavors: On the palate the wine is medium-full bodied with classic Bordeaux proportions, wonderful concentration, with flavors of cherry, rich chocolate and spiced cake. The wine finishes with perfectly balanced texture and flavor and a refreshing brightness. Enjoy with red meats, duck and pasta with rich sauces.

 

 

2013 Cannonball Cabernet Sauvignon

Winemaking: We are thrilled to present our 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon. This year the fruit ripened easily with a moderate crop and typical warm and dry conditions.

This vintage was aged 15 months in oak: 45% new, 80% French Medium Plus Toast, 20% American Medium Toast

Aromas: Features aromatic tiers of ripe mulberry, spiced black tea and purple floral notes.

Taste and flavors: The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon has dark fruit, black plum, spice and a hint of cocoa in the aromas. It is full in the palate with good concentration, dark fruit flavors and considerable structure in the finish. Pairs beautifully with burgers, NY steak, short ribs, lamb chops, pizza, pasta with bolognese sauce, Stilton cheese and chocolate desserts!
