NETZL
Chardonnay

2015

The merest hint of ripe stone fruit presents itself on the nose. The palate has the same clean stone-fruited charm, reminiscent of freshly harvested yellow plums. The unoaked palate is balanced and has a pleasant, plump weight, leavened by natural freshness and acidity.

Chardonnay gets little respect when it gets out of balance in any direction - "Too Oaky, Too buttery, Too sharp" -

Not this wine, Balance is its middle name.
Chardonnay Balanced with Elegance.

Ripe white pear and ripe apple enhanced by a tropical note on the nose combines with a soft entry and excellent length on the palate. It almost cries for Lobster!!

This is a white that will confidently carry you through the rest of the year for easy drinking and entertaining whether for the Sunday games or for a hoped for long run through the MLB playoffs. An enjoyable and reliable foundation of your wine cellar at a price that won't be topped. - Mike

(Editors Note: I"ve been recommending the Netzl Chardonnay to many people over the summer months, and every single person has come back for more! One of my absolute favorite un-oaked chardonnays, not heavy, and perfect for summers by the pool or by itself throughout the fall! - Dave)

“The vineyards benefit from the cool winds off the Danube especially during the hot summer nights giving this Chardonnay its perfect harmony. Beautiful tropical fruit aromas are balanced by great acidity built on good minerality. Juicy fruit and some spice on the nose, yellow apples and melons along with good acidity give this wine a fresh animating finish. Wonderful with fish and seafood!! ”

Our Thoughts.....

This may be the Chardonnay that you've been searching for these many weeks. Ripe, but crisp; Aromatic and juicy; soft but lengthy; tropical notes without getting syrupy; great with food or all by itself!!

One of our favorites!!

Vineyard 26 hectares (64 acres) ln the remarkable Carnuntum (One of the largest cities in the Roman Empire)Wine Region.  Years of tradition characterize the wine growing area of Carnuntum. After the Celts, this region experienced a glorious epoch under the Romans. The Heidentor, the symbol of our wine growing region in Carnuntum, is just one of the awesome excavations you can visit in the Carnuntum Archaeology Park.

Pannonian Climate Characterized by dry summers and warm autumns, it allows us to cultivate excellent white and red wines from very ripe grapes. Extensive sunshine with enough rainfall, prevents the cold wind from north - west (river Danube) l Pannonian Lowland In the Southeast, blows warm and dry wind. The chain of hills is sickle-shaped and warmed up by the sun from the early morning until the late evening. l Danube River brings cooler temperatures during the nights, which lead to intensive fruit and aromatic wines l Soil Ranges from very nutritious loess to poor and dry gravel – these differences are taken into consideration during planting. Accordingly our spicy and fruity white wines grow on the poor gravel and our powerful and rich reds on the nutritious soils. l Sustained Cultivation Our philosophy is to work in unison with nature and the weather; we are obliged to preserve the health and the reserves of our soil for the future generations.
