Although this wine comes from La Mancha, we are not tilting windmills here!! This is a big lush black cherry-laden red wine that will see you through the fall and into the winter. And at this price, it can be Tuesday night with a grilled cheese or Friday evening affair with friends and neighbors.

Our Thoughts.....
This is what we have come to expect of well-made Spanish wines. Saturated ruby color. This wine has a strikingly aromatic nose that offers a pungent array of fruit, floral and herbal scents. Sweet cherry-vanilla and cola flavors coat the palate and are enlivened by juicy acidity. Supple tannins gain strength on the finish, which strongly repeats the cola and floral qualities. 100% Tempranillo.
The History of Bodegas Volver, La Mancha.….
The 2014 Volver Single Vineyard comes from a parcel of vines planted in 1957 called Finca Los Juncares. It is 100% Tempranillo aged 15 months in French oak and bottled unfiltered. It is a relatively small cuvée of 3,000 cases, but it’s a stunning wine, with notes of unsmoked cigar tobacco, licorice and black currants. This is one of the top value wineries in all of Spain, working from generic appellations such as La Mancha to Jumilla and Alicante. They produce an amazing amount of inexpensive, high-quality wine that sells for a song. 
The winery is located in the best land in La Mancha , in the eastern part of the zone designation of origin. The land is the reason why the winery committed to buy 110 hectares located at an altitude of 660 meters above sea level. The soil is sandy ( up to one meter deep) with a thick substrate of sand enriched with iron and a large component of limestone. The vineyards have low production , about 1-2 kilos of grapes per vine. The winters are very cold , summers are warm with cool nights , it is a very arid climate. The Spanish winemaker Rafael Canizares tries to make the most of the crops Tempranillo their environment. The grapes of this variety come from a single farm of 29 hectares cultivated in 1957 , called Finca Los Juncares . Only after a careful selection of grapes, the best Tempranillo vineyards are harvested in small baskets to prevent damaging the fruit.
