The Wine Cabinet Named a 2026 Steward of Virginia Wine

We’re excited to share some wonderful news during Virginia Wine Month: The Wine Cabinet has been named a 2026 Steward of Virginia Wine!

Presented by the Virginia Wine Marketing Office, the Stewards of Virginia Wine Awards recognize restaurants, wine bars and retailers that go above and beyond to showcase and promote Virginia-grown wines. The program celebrates businesses that help connect consumers with Virginia wine through thoughtfully curated selections, tastings, events, education and creative promotions.

We’re especially proud to receive this recognition because supporting Virginia wine has long been an important part of what we do at The Wine Cabinet. While we love exploring wines from around the world, we believe Virginia deserves a prominent place on our shelves—and on our customers’ tables.

Celebrating Virginia Wine All Year Long

Our commitment to Virginia wine goes well beyond Virginia Wine Month. We maintain a dedicated selection of Virginia wines throughout the year and regularly feature them in our tastings, promotions and events. We also make a point of helping our staff learn more about the people, places and wines that make Virginia’s wine industry so unique.

Over the years, members of our team have visited Virginia wineries and worked in the Virginia wine industry, giving us an even greater appreciation for the care and craftsmanship that goes into each bottle. We love being able to share those stories with our customers and help them discover a Virginia wine they may not have tried before.

We’re also proud to bring Virginia wines to the forefront during October’s Virginia Wine Month, with special tastings and promotions designed to encourage our customers to explore the incredible variety being produced throughout the Commonwealth.

Come Celebrate Virginia Wine With Us

What better way to celebrate being named a Steward of Virginia Wine than by pouring some Virginia wine!

We have two special Virginia wine tastings coming up:

Friday, October 2, 4–7:30 PM — Barboursville Vineyards: Join us for a special tasting featuring wines from Barboursville Vineyards, one of Virginia’s most established and respected wineries. We’ll be pouring a selection of Virginia wines, including several acclaimed bottles.

Saturday, October 24, 1–5 PM — Early Mountain Vineyards: Later in the month, we’ll welcome Early Mountain Vineyards for another free Virginia Wine Month tasting. It’s a great opportunity to discover wines from Madison, Virginia, and learn more about what makes this region—and Virginia wine as a whole—so exciting.

Both tastings are FREE, and no reservation is required.
