Porter Family Vineyards is a family-owned boutique winery located in the Coombsville region of Napa Valley, California. Founded by Tom and Beverly Porter, the vineyard is known for producing outstanding Bordeaux varietals, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot, as well as a signature Syrah.
The story of Porter Family Vineyards is quite fascinating. Tom Porter, an electrical engineer, dreamed of owning a vineyard and making his own wine. After purchasing a 20-acre parcel of land in Coombsville in 2005, he built a 17,000-square-foot underground cellar in the hillside, where fossilized sandpiper footprints were discovered. These footprints date back millions of years and have become a symbol of the vineyard's connection to the ancient history of the land.
The Porters are dedicated to stewarding the property for future generations and have a strong commitment to philanthropy. They donate 100% of the proceeds from their Amani red blend to the Amani Children's Home in Tanzania and support HeartWorks Inc., an organization dedicated to curing congenital heart defects.
