Ruby red colour with garnet hues, and the aroma is fresh, sweet and gentle, full of fruit, mostly reminiscent of cherries. The taste is light and soft, with a long, pleasantly tannic persistency. Pairs well with roasted and grilled meat, and game.

Another free-flowing wine from this producer, fuller weighted and yet with no heaviness or excess. Aromas of dried thyme, root spices, sassafras and black cherries with a touch of oak astringency to conclude. This is well thought out. Drink or hold.

The 2021 Valpolicella Ripasso La Cengia is earthy in the glass, mixing dried black cherries with flowery underbrush, crushed stones and grilled herbs, all lifted by a hint of sour orange. This is silky smooth yet more high-toned than expected, with depths of tart wild berry fruits guided by brisk acidity. It finishes structured and long, maintaining freshness and leaving a bitter twang of autumnal spice and grippy tannins.
