The 2022 Ried Höhereck Grüner Veltliner Smaragd has an herbaceous, stony and slightly phenolic nose. Dense and rich on the palate, it is quite full-bodied, with yeasty notes, a firm, muscular structure and a somewhat bitter finish. This is a complex Veltliner that is more pithy than juicy. Tasted at Schloss Dürnstein, Wachau, in September 2023.
