Light, delicate yellow, a hint of youthful golden shimmer resonates; the bouquet has fine, ripe fruit aromas, the entire range of the pome fruit family is covered, with some notes of dried fruit, raisins, figs and apricots, and only a very subtle hint of biscuit from the use of wood; Elegance convinces on the palate, powerful and yet always aesthetic with the necessary fruit acid in the background, the strong, full structure is perfectly balanced, already a pleasure now, but also a promise for the future.

The 2021 Grüner Veltliner Grande Reserve is a blend of fruit off the oldest vines from the Spiegel, Kirchthal and Rosenberg sites. This is the 25th vintage of this wine, matured in barrel. Ivy and honey have a slight lemon lift on the nose. The palate is rounded but tingles with freshness on this sinuous wine, outlined by lemon zestiness. This has power, direction, boldness, and even stoniness, with ample depth and concentration. A mighty, muscular and powerful wine but one that carries itself with elegance, this is leavened with peppery verve throughout its golden Grüner richness. (Bone-dry)
