Winemaker Notes: Ruby red color with purplish reflections. The nose is intense , rich in flavors of red mature fruits such as cherry and blackberry blended with floral notes. The taste is harmonious with great balance; good structure with oak nuances, a fine and sweet tannic component and pleasant hints of red fruits.

The organic Castello di Verrazzano 2022 Chianti Classico follows a classical playlist in which Sangiovese's brightness shines throughout. This estate always succeeds at making balanced wines that are elegant, fresh and gastronomic. There is bright spot of tart cherry on the close of this wine that is typical of the vintage. Proprietor Luigi Giovanni Cappellini describes 2022 as extremely hot and dry. "Fruit set was completed nicely and in little time. Heat and light promoted optimal bud development," he says.

The 2022 Chianti Classico is a very pretty wine from this Greve estate. Aromatic and light on its feet, the 2022 is quite expressive in the early going. Crushed flowers, mint, spice, tobacco, new leather and dried autumn leaves are very nicely delineated throughout. This is such a delight.
