Light bodied, bright and fresh, with notes of bright red cherry, wild strawberry, raspberry, fresh mushroom, and subtle black tea and hints of clove. Soft tannins with a fresh, mineral edge, it finishes clean with a lingering hint of red fruit and subtle savoury complexity.

Splendid on its own, but also perfect to accompany grilled or seared fish, particularly salmon and tuna, roasted duck or light white meat dishes, goat cheese and soft rind cheeses. The savory forest tones also complement earthy mushroom-based dishes.

Made from 100% Pinot Noir, a climate cooler than Burgundy produces wines even lighter in colour and body than those of Burgundy, with extraordinary delicacy and finesse. As well as his superb whites and rosé, Christian Lauverjat also produces this beautifully soft red Sancerre with great purity of fruit and balance.
