Taylor Fladgate Late Bottled Vintage Port 2020
| Category | Port |
| Brand | Taylor Fladgate |
| Origin | Portugal, Douro |
Winemaker Notes: Deep purple with a ruby red rim. The nose is refined and complex, revealing multiple layers of aroma. A fine blend of wild strawberry, cassis, raspberry and plum provides the base for the elegant floral scents, hints of liquorice and rock rose. The palate is voluptuous, supported by tense linear tannis and clean, crisp flavours of damsons and plums which continue into the long finish. A wonderful expression of Taylor Fladgate’s LBV, poised and slightly understated with superb finesse. This wine is ready to drink and does not require decanting.
Excellent with fully flavoured cheeses, especially blue cheeses such as Stilton or Roquefort. It is also delicious with desserts made with chocolate or berry fruits.
Taylor Fladgate were pioneers of the LBV category, developed to satisfy the demand for a high quality ready-to-drink alternative to Vintage Port for everyday consumption. Unlike Vintage Port, which is bottled after only two years in wood and ages in bottle, LBV is bottled after four to six years and is ready to drink when bottled.

This is complex and powerful, offering notes of ripe but vivid black and blue fruit, crushed violets, coffee liqueur, wet stones and earth. Full-bodied and concentrated with firm tannins and walnuty character. Its not overly sweet and very lively on the palate, showing delicious fruit within the darker spectrum. Long and mineral. Drink now or hold.
