Elvio Cogno Dolcetto d'Alba Vigna del Mandorlo 2020

The 2020 Dolcetto d'Alba Mandorlo is a delightfully easy and genuine expression of this versatile and food-friendly grape. From a classic vintage that was most kind to the many indigenous grapes grown across the Langa, this wine is bursting with red cherry fruit and fresh raspberry. Those sweet tones are rounded off by a drying note of crushed aspirin. 11,000 bottles were produced.

The 2020 Dolcetto d'Alba Mandorlo is elegant and beautifully persistent. It offers a bit less body than most years, but with plenty of nuance to match its classically austere personality. Dark cherry, lavender, cinnamon and tobacco are nicely layered throughout.
