A supple and generous red hailing from the Tejo region of central Portugal, blending indigenous Portuguese grape varieties touriga nacional, castelão, and trincadeira, and showcasing a medium-bodied profile with soft tannins and vibrant red-berry notes, making it approachable and enjoyable for anyday drinking. The 2023 vintage brings ripe fruit characteristics and balanced acidity. A top pick for drinking with or without food.
Pairs well with paella, roasted lamb, or stew.
Tejo, an area known for its rich winemaking heritage blending tradition with modern techniques, takes its name from the Tagus river that flows through it and, eventually, Lisbon, and Quinta da Alorna sits on its southern bank. The winery is raising awareness of one of the rivers inhabitants, the endangered lutra (European Otter), hence the label here. Needless to say, the wine is otterly delicious.
