The 2019 vintage presents an intense red color, accented with violet tones and black hues. Aromatically, it offers attractive notes of cherry and raspberry, elegantly intertwined with subtle hints of dark chocolate and vanilla, creating a profile that is both complex and intense. On the palate, this wine reveals smooth and silky tannins, showcasing a unique complexity. The experience is rounded off with a long and elegant finish.

Next to the 2018, I also tasted the 2019 Eolo. In this vintage, the barrels were one-third each new, second use and third use, and the other half of the wine matured in third use oak foudre. The wine has lower impact from the élevage despite being one year younger than the 2018. But more importantly, they have conducted a soil study with Guillermo Corona and divided the vineyard by soils and have adapted details to the soils, and there's more precision in the wine. Also, the year was cooler, and the wine has more freshness; the wine is elegant, powerful, floral and serious, with very fine tannins. This has to be one of the finest vintages for this wine. Bravo! 13,300 bottles produced. It was bottled in November 2020.

The 2019 Malbec Eolo hails from Vistalba, Luján de Cuyo, specifically a vineyard first planted in 1912, and was 50% aged for 18 months in one-third new barrels and 50% in foudres. Garnet red with a purple sheen. The slightly liqueur-like nose offers plum and jam with white pepper, camphor and balsamic aromas. The elegant woody notes arrive later, enhancing the overall effect. Delivers good volume, muscle and fruity flavor. A long balsamic, fruity finish follows the finely- grained texture. The Vistalba character comes out in the volume and tannins.

Every vintage of this wine gains in freshness without losing its rich character. It comes from old vines in Luján de Cuyo and is full of flavors that exhibit great balance and depth. The bouquet offers sweet baking spices and subtle notes of cassis and licorice. Cinnamon, vanilla beans, red and black fruit shape the palate. Drink now-2035.

A touch ripe, showing fig and berry notes amid a savory display of white pepper, olive and clay, but has just enough fresh acidity to keep things in check and drive the flavors onto to finish. Drink now. 875 cases made, 150 cases imported.
