It may seem a bit unlikely that an unpretentious wine with contemporary styling could hail from a generations-old family winery like Gundlach Bundschu, but this expression is an example of exactly that. Bold flavors of cassis and blackberry are brightened by fresh acidity, while spice notes and a whiff of woodsmoke lend complexity.
